Istanbul Basaksehir have entered negotiations with AC Milan in an attempt to lower the option to buy on their loan deal for Leo Duarte, a report claims.
Duarte is approaching the expiration of his 18-month loan at Istanbul Basaksehir and the Turkish club now have to decide what they want to do. As Calciomercato.com report, there is a €5.5m option to buy included as part of the deal, but they have not been convinced enough to trigger it quickly.
Duarte cost the Rossoneri €10m in the summer of 2019 and now he is experiencing days of uncertainty surrounding where he will play next season. Basaksehir had shown a willingness to keep him but there seems to have been a step backwards.
They are apparently trying to secure a fairly substantial discount, just like Milan themselves are aiming to obtain from Roma for Alessandro Florenzi. The negotiations are ongoing, while it is worth noting that Duarte’s contract with Milan expires in 2024 and if he came back the management would find a new destination for the 25-year-old.
