CM.it: Milan could sign Schalke defender in next few days; Leipzig man remains on radar

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are expected to have made new contacts with Schalke on Friday over defender Matija Nastasic, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.it, contacts between Milan and Schalke 04 are continuing for Nastasic. The Serbian defender can leave on loan and represents a low cost idea for Milan, who need reinforcements as soon as possible rather than haggling over a deal for a long time.

Sporting director Ricky Massara would have preferred a younger player, the report adds, but in the absence of an opportunity they are expected to close a deal for Nastasic in the coming days. New contacts are also expected on Friday, as the 27-year-old’s agent Fali Ramadani is in Milano at present.

In the background remains Nordi Mukiele of Leipzig, a 22-year-old who can play centre-back or right-back and is held in high esteem by Ricky Massara, but is also a target for city rivals Inter.
