CM.it: Milan dreaming big in January – PSG striker Icardi among €100m+ trio eyed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are aiming big in the January window and could even launch a bid for Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi, a report claims.

Calciomercato.it claim that the Milan management are secretly dreaming of being involved in the Scudetto race but the director duo of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara know that pieces are needed in January to bolster Stefano Pioli’s squad.

A centre-back will be sought when the window reopens and the dream target remains Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic, valued at €40million by Rocco Commisso.

Milan are aiming for a lower price tag considering that the 22-year-old will now renew his contract which is set to expire in 2022, but should they fail then another Viola player in German Pezzella could be a feasible alternative at €12-13m.

Another Argentine also teases the imagination of Milan, namely Mauro Icardi. The former Inter striker is not finding much space in Thomas Tuchel’s PSG side and his wife/agent Wanda Nara even congratulated Milan for their recent derby win.

Icardi is seen as the ideal centre-forward to replace Ibrahimovic and could join early to learn from him until he retires. The management could offer the following: a €10m paid loan with an option or obligation to buy set at €40m.
