CM: January strategy outlined as Milan eye Midtjylland and Chelsea duo

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management want to bolster the squad in the January window to help Stefano Pioli in the mission to earn a 20th Scudetto, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Pioli is satisfied with the left wing where Rafael Leao continues to shine and Ante Rebic is a very capable back-up, but the same cannot be said for the right flank as Alexis Saelemaekers’ injury and Junior Messias’ inconsistency led the club to reflect ahead of the January market.

Maldini and Massara will only intervene in the winter transfer window if situations arise that can improve the team without taking excessive risks from an economic point of view, as has been the case in the past.

There are different profiles monitored including those who are ready to make a contribution immediately and those who have the potential to grow, while at the moment it seems the former is favours.

Milan are keeping an eye on the young Danish talent from FC Midtjylland, Gustav Isaksen, but the chances of him arriving have lowered. Hakim Ziyech remains the man they want and if Chelsea were to open on loan, six months after the last attempt, then Milan would be ready.
