CM: Kalulu another glowing reference for Milan’s project – the back story on his arrival

By Oliver Fisher -

While it is too early to tell perhaps, it is right to get excited about the signs we have seen from Pierre Kalulu thus far.

As Calciomercato.com reports, it has been ten huge days for Kalulu, who has basically exploded onto the scene between the 10th and 20th of December, a period in which he played four games – his first four for Milan.

Until the beginning of this month, the Frenchman had not made a single appearance for the Rossoneri and a loan in January seemed the best solution for everyone, but now he appears to be fourth spot in the hierarchy and above both Musacchio and Duarte.

The most amazing this is he did it as a centre-back and not as a full-back, his main role during the Lyon youth sector, and the breakthrough came in training as confessed by Pioli.

“Two months ago we played him centrally randomly during a training session and I immediately liked what I saw. He told me he is happy in that role.”

Kalulu will remain at Milanello and will not be loaned, a symbol of yet another victory for Massara and Maldini. Last spring he said no to a renewal with Lyon, he preferred Milan for the project and for the words of esteem of Maldini.
