CM: Massara a concrete target for Juventus – what filters from Milan on his future

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan sporting director Ricky Massara is a target for Juventus as they look to continue their sporting overhaul, however there are no signs he is going anywhere.

As Calciomercato.com report, Massara has done a great job at Milan so far since arriving and becoming Paolo Maldini’s right-hand man. The pair have been responsible for signing players like Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu, Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer, Sandro Tonali, Rafael Leao and others who have formed the corner for the future.

The former Roma director has become a concrete objective for Juventus in view of next season as per the source, with Max Allegri knowing him well from their time together as players at Pescara.

The Bianconeri are expected to undergo an overhaul at management level given the various sagas they are involved in, but according to what he filters from sources close to the club, there is no possibility of a farewell at the end of the season for Massara.

    1. It would be Juventus’ 4th sporting director in the last 5 years.
They are the most successful club in Italy but they haven’t been picking the right directors since Marotta left. Also, the directors they picked got them in their current mess that will have them banned from Europe for at least next season.
Based on the situation they are in, they can’t really attract the best of the directors out there.

      1. Well, Massara I’m guessing Massara would be sporting director/director of sport, more than in the Angelli type role. But you have a point. Still, Juventus is focused on winning, for better or worse, and they will be trying to hire the best they can get. Marotta left, yes, but the other side of that coin is that he was there. Paratici is the big fail, but my impression is that as Marotta’s no. 2 he convinced them that he was “the guy” to replace him when they fell out. I remember reading a rumor that Paratici actually helped engineer Marotta’s departure. One thing you say is definitely true: Juventus are a club in turmoil. We are not, and we have a responsible growth plan. Massara is part of that.

  1. No Massara please. He is a good friend of Allegri so will only keep this incompetent on Juve’s bench. We can’t afford more of Allegri’s incompetence as it’s killing the players, supporters and the club.
