CM: Messias begins life as a Milan player – the plan for his integration into the team

By Oliver Fisher -

Nine days after his deadline day move to AC Milan, the feeling might just have sunk in for Junior Messias as the next chapter of his incredible journey begins.

As Calciomercato.com reports, Messias has had some exchanges with Stefano Pioli and his team-mates who stayed at Milanello to prepare for next Sunday’s important match against Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio. However, the Rossoneri fans will have to wait a little longer before seeing the Brazilian’s debut.

This is because the former Crotone star is not quite at his best condition and has been doing individual work all week. The coaching staff plan to have him in top shape for the match on 22 September at San Siro against Venezia.

Head coach Pioli will not rush the process either, because he has Alexis Saelemaekers in an moment of confidence after 1 goal and 1 assist with Belgium, while Brahim Diaz is also experiencing an excellent patch of form.

Milan are clear on Messias’ role: Junior will be the first alternative to both. He is more of a right winger than a No.10 in their eyes but he is more than ready to perform either role and to rewrite the hierarchies currently in place.
