CM: Milan and Rangnick ready to pounce as RB Leipzig stall on €28m striker deal

AC Milan are ready to enter the running to sign forward Patrik Schick from Roma as RB Leipzig are stalling over their option to buy.

That is according to Calciomercato.com, who report that the Rossoneri management are desperate to give Ralf Rangnick the attacking firepower necessary to make his transition to Serie A as seamless as possible, and Schick is one of the names on the wish list.

He joined RB Leipzig last September on a paid loan for €3.5million with a €28m option to buy and although he has not managed to nail down a spot in Julian Nagelsmann’s regular starting XI, he still has 10 goals in 22 Bundesliga appearances.

The Czech international is a profile that Rangnick knows very well and that he could endorse in view of the summer overhaul. Schick was even probed by Milan as part of a potential deal with Roma involving Suso, but the deal never took off and he moved to Sevilla instead.

Leipzig are continuing to take their time in the hope of obtaining a discount on the €28m option, but Rangnick and Milan are ready to enter the running.
