CM: How Milan and Barcelona should line up in Baltimore friendly

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will complete their tour of the United States tomorrow night when they take on Barcelona in Baltimore, and some team news has emerged from training.

Paulo Fonseca’s Rossoneri face Hansi Flick’s Barcelona at the M&T Bank Stadium and are looking for a clean sweep in the Soccer Champions Tour.

Milan have already beaten Manchester City (3-2, a brace from Lorenzo Colombo and a goal from Marco Nasti) and Real Madrid (1-0, Samuel Chukwueze with the winner) and are looking for three out of three against the Blaugrana.

Calciomercato.com have the predicted line-ups for both teams, with Fonseca expected to field Luka Jovic as the striker, Samuel Chukwueze and Alexis Saelemaekers as wingers with Christian Pulisic as the No.10.

Ismael Bennacer and Ruben Loftus-Cheek should be the double pivot, with Davide Calabria and Filippo Terracciano either side of Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw, who are tipped to be the centre-backs ahead of Lorenzo Torriani in goal.

It’s the last commitment in the USA for Milan, who will then return to Italy and prepare for the last friendly against Monza at San Siro in the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy (August 13, 21:00 CEST), then the season gets underway on Saturday August 17 at 20:45 CEST against Torino.

Predicted Barcelona (4-2-3-1): Ter Stegen; Valle, Christensen, Martinez, Baldé; Casado, Bernal; Victor, Pablo Torre, Hernandez; Lewandowski.

Prediction Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Torriani; Calabria, Tomori, Thiaw, Terracciano; Bennacer, Loftus-Cheek; Chukwueze, Pulisic, Saelemaekers; Jovic.

  1. These friendly matches make no football sense at all. Teams that take part are full of reserves and young under 20 players while internationals are still on holiday. Only help to get money from organizers and nothing else.
