CM: Milan believe they can close signing of €20m Valencia star after positive talks

AC Milan have begun discussions with the entourage of Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah and the early sensations are positive, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani had the first preliminary contacts over Musah a few days ago but now it has emerged that the duo are in constant contact with the player’s agents.

They are ‘ready to unlock a very interesting deal’ because what filters from the conversations is positive. Musah is seen as a player who can help fill the void left by Sandro Tonali’s now imminent sale, and he has an asking price of €20m.

Milan are hoping to close Musah’s arrival as soon as in the next few days, giving Stefano Pioli a new dynamic midfielder and beating the competition from Premier League clubs like West Ham.

Inter have been previously linked to the USA international, who has an Italian passport and therefore would not occupy the last of the two slots available to non-EU players.

    1. Well… Sound good to me as Fiorentina destroyed our midfield last season! So that would mean our midfield gets upgraded – which has been overdue way too long.

    2. You say the same thing on every single post and it makes absolutely no sense. If the aim of the new ownership is simply to increase Milan’s value and then sell, dropping from UCL to Conf. League is a piss poor strategy to that end. While they may not be pulling out all the stops to try to capitalize on the squad and get another Scudetto asap, it’s clear that they want to play in UCL every year. We all had our day but now it’s time to support the club or move on.

        1. We already have Bennacer. Just waiting for him. As for Tonali, this Musah kid is actually pretty good. Being only 20 years old, he might even become better than Tonali!

          1. Don’t expect to see Bennacer for a while so it’ll be this kid and Loftus-Cheek. If our midfield was average last year as he said then it’ll be an absolute disaster this season with these two.
Musah will only be signing as he is American anyway and it’ll appeal to the American market. Same as Pulisic.
We only qualified for champions league this season due to a points deduction I don’t expect things to improve next season losing Tonali and making signings like this.

        2. They paid a billion pounds for a club without a stadium knowing full well they may have to spend another billion on a stadium.

How is that doing it on the cheap!, I just don’t fathom the thinking here especially in the context of FFP and the issues we had.

Inter is built on a house of cards and all those expressing criticism will see the consequences unless Zhang can offload them

      1. Dude, listen. You keep telling other people what to do. It is your time to do whatever you want, and piss off with that stupid nonsense.

      2. Milan should be fighting for the scudetto every year, thats how big it is, fighting for top 4 is for smaller clubs, and fighting for the scudetto is the only guarantee of gettting a top 4 finish

    3. Musah would be a good signing. He can give us some of what we are missing since Kessie left. Milan’s midfield was our weakness last season. Tonali was hugely overrated. Bennacer is injured but will be back. Pairing Bennacer with Musah and Loftus Cheeks is an upgrade from last season, even if they don’t get Fratessi or SMS.

      1. Lol 3 Musahs are not as good as 1 Tonali. The numbers don’t lie. And whats with all this R, L… or other no names accaunts just randomly cheereing for Redbird Cardinale ?

          1. No contributing to 10 more goals then Mussa is what makes him better. Not even mentoning the defensive work of Tonali which is a just the icing on the cake. Those two players are not even comparable, Tonali is miles ahead.

        1. The defensive work of Tonali? That’s laughable. Like never tracking back and picking up his mark like he did so many times this season. Letting a 35 year old Mhykatarian run by him for a goal against Inter in the Champions League. Tonali was the problem and people will soon find that out.

  1. I understand that the spending power of the EPL far outweighs us but it pretty embarrassing that this article points out we, AC MILAN, are trying to ‘beat competition from EPL clubs like West Ham’

We finished in the semi final of the champions league and we are struggling to attract players because we have no ambition to win it any longer with this management.

Maldini and Massara risked not making the top 4 to make a run at the final. That’s ambition.

    1. “We finished in the semi final of the champions league and we are struggling to attract players because we have no ambition to win it any longer with this management.”

Money talks. Even the relegating team in EPL get more money than the scudetto winners in Italy. That’s why we compete against teams such as West Ham and not ManCity, Liverpool etc.

    2. That’s the new normal though, that’s just going to be the way it is for the foreseeable future. Not embarrassing, just the reality – there’s a reason Italian clubs are squabbling over players like a West Ham outcast (Scamacca) and aren’t even in the frame for the sort of player like Nicolas Jackson who’ll go sit on Chelsea’s bench – England gets crazy amount of TV revenue.

    3. We DIDN’T make the Top4 and we DIDN’T make the final. Had it not been for Juve, we wouldn’t have even made UCL. Ambition?

    4. But like you said, it’s spending power and players are attracted to higher wages. West Ham makes more money Than us for various reasons I won’t get into but they do. It’s just how it is. And they’re able or willing to pay more for players than we are. Therefore, regardless of stature they’ll more likely to sign for them than us especially now that we don’t have a figure representing the history of the club that they can attach themselves to

  2. That sum of money for a guy of only 20 years is not small. He comes from a strong league and obviously promises a lot, but for such a young player changing teams and leagues carries a lot of challenges, and it is difficult to know in advance how much we could expect from him.

    1. I agree it’s not without risk. If his WC performances are any indication though he could have tremendous upside. He stood out at just 20 against a senior England side. I don’t envy Pioli having to simultaneously coach up and coming talents and challenge for silverware. He has it all to do and I wouldn’t be surprised if we struggle to finish top 4 again.

      1. 20 mil is not so bad. We paid 22 for Theo, didn’t we? Now he’s Top 3 in the world in his position. I think it’s a reasonable gamble, with a LOT of upside. AAAAAAND his father isn’t asking for another 20mil in commission.

  3. Chelsea that spend big where are they today isn’t all about spending big at times o is luck any players my team milan buy i wish them best of luck

  4. This guy had a HORRIBLE season with Valencia. Losing Tonali in exchange for Loftus Cheek and this guy is very telling of where the “project” is heading now. These are signings that teams like Everton or Wolverhampton would make in the Premier League. Terrible.

  5. How about Kamada ? You sign RLC but can’t finally sign Kamada ? You guys turning Milan into very mediocre team RLC doesn’t provide anything to Milan . Musah is just promising player . With that money you could buy Gnonto orban wahi but not let’s take them instead players for the future
