CM: Milan trying to block Premier League defender to arrive in summer 2024

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan want to try and agree terms with Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly so that he can join the club at the end of the season, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri are very keen on bringing Lloyd to the club but are aware that Bournemouth are far from likely to allow him to leave on loan in January.

At the end of this season, he will be out of contract with the Premier League side and they would rather continue using him until the end of the campaign than loan him out only to then lose him for free in six months’ time.

For that reason, the Milan hierarchy would like to try and agree personal terms with the 25-year-old and make sure that when his Bournemouth contract is up, he joins them for free rather than anyone else.

Bournemouth will continue trying to agree a new contract for Kelly, but Milan’s interest could make that tough.

In the meantime, Milan have got Matteo Gabbia returning from his loan spell at Villarreal and they will try and sign at least one other central defender to add depth in the January transfer window given all of the injuries.
