CM: Milan competing with Sevilla for signing of Lyon full-back on free transfer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing Lyon right-back Pierre Kalulu on a free transfer this summer, according to a report.

The Rossoneri have have struggled for consistency in the right-back position all season with neither Andrea Conti nor Davide Calabria able to nail down a consistent starting spot due to a combination of injuries, suspensions and poor form.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are always looking seize the opportunities that the market offers and have been following Pierre Kalulu since the beginning of December.

The 19-year-old Lyon full-back has a contract which expires in June, though the Ligue 1 side are doing everything they can to retain the young talent.

Lyon submitted a new three-year contract to the player last week and are now awaiting a response, while Milan for the moment have slowed their pursuit somewhat and have not made an enquiry since the end of January.

Uncertainty about the management structure has frozen all the operations set, but the interest in Kalulu remains and is concrete. The idea is to sign him on a fee with a low compensation fee given his age, but LaLiga side Sevilla have the same idea.
