CM: Milan evaluated Real Madrid right-back before agreeing €20m deal with Barcelona

AC Milan have chosen Sergino Dest as the man they want to reinforce the right-back role after they evaluated other options, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Alessandro Florenzi’s condition is not encouraging after he suffered a painful muscle injury during Tuesday night’s draw against Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium.

As a result of this, Stefano Pioli asked for a last minute reinforcement for the right-back role. Real Madrid’s Alvaro Odriozola was proposed, but his salary was deemed too high and there was no opening by Real Madrid to contribute to part of it.

That is why they turned to Dest, agreeing a deal with Barcelona quickly on the basis of a loan with option to buy set at €20m. The deal was defined in a very short time, so Pioli has the new right-back he wanted to alternate with the captain Davibe Calabria.

The USA international arrived in the city this morning and is currently undergoing his medical tests.
