CM: Milan eyeing Botman alternatives – PSG and Bayer Leverkusen duo targeted

By Oliver Fisher -

With Sven Botman having been confirmed as a Newcastle United player, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking at alternative options.

According to Calciomercato.com, two names are gaining momentum: Piero Hincapié of Bayer Leverkusen and Abdou Diallo of PSG, the latter having been linked extensively during the January transfer window.

Hincapié is a profile favoured above all by chief scout Geoffrey Moncada as the mobility and versatility of the 20-year-old means he can even play as a left-back. Milan have expressed interest in talks with the Ecuador international’s entourage, but the €25-30m asking pric e and competition makes things tough.

Roma and Napoli are keen on signing Hincapie, without forgetting that Bayer Leverkusen would like to keep the player for at least another season because they are convinced that a great World Cup with Ecuador could further increase his price tag.

It would be easier to sign Diallo therefore because PSG put him on the market as he doesn’t fit into Christophe Galtier’s plans. Maldini and Massara tried in January, and if the conditions are right they could strike gold this time.
