CM: Milan have a ‘good chance’ of signing Fulham star on a free transfer

By Oliver Fisher -

It is looking more and more like AC Milan will have to wait until the summer to strengthen the defence and the management have their eye on two free transfers, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan remain alert in the final few hours of the winter mercato to try and seize an opportunity like Jakub Kiwior of Arsenal, Clement Lenglet of Barcelona (on loan at Aston Villa) or Lilian Brassier of Brest.

A surprise last-minute solution cannot be ruled out, but Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio are planning for the future too and they want to try secure at least one free transfer ahead of June.

Abdul-Nasir Oluwatosin Adarabioyo – better known as Tosin Adarabioyo – is the main candidate to join Milan for 2024-25. The Fulham defender’s deal will expire in July and he has not yet accepted a renewal offer.

Moncada has already had more than one positive discussion with his brother-agent, and there is a ‘good chance’ that the deal will go through.

In recent weeks, Milan have inquired again about Lloyd Kelly’s situation. The Bournemouth captain will also be available on a free but in this case the competition is much stronger, which is why Adarabioyo is favoured.

  1. Free transfer here free transfer there. FREE TRANSFERS DOESN’T GUARANTEE QUALITY AND RHE TEAM DOESN’T IMPROVE IT ONLY MAKE IT WORSE LEAVE ALL OF YOU brokebird furlani scaroni all of you

    1. And guess what? We can’t even sign free agents lol. Somebody will offer more money and sempremilan site will critisize the player for accepting it like Thuram case.

      1. That’s because agents demands millions and then the player salary goes way up. Like Popovic, who ended up joining Monza, after multiple teams refused.

Free Transfers used to be decent business if they were good players available, but that just isn’t the case anymore.

    2. Inter got Thuram on free transfer. Calhanoglu too. Mkhitarian also. Might be getting Taremi also. So… Not necessary a bad thing.

  2. @Milanese2000. That’s a load rubbish. Inter signed Calhanoglu, Thuram, and a few other players for free and they are the best team in Serie A and arguably Europe.

    1. True. Even buying expensive players don’t guarantee success. Ask Chelsea. What we need is smart signing the players needed by the team. DM and CF position has been screaming for new players for years.

  3. Sign both Adarabioyo and Kelly. If we switch to 3 CB setting, we will need 6 CB at least. Tomori-Thiaw-Gabbia will stay. We can send 15m+Pobega+Colombo for Buongiorno then we will have our big 6 in def. Sell Kalulu for pure gain then sign a true Dmf with that money. Then use rest of the budget to get a true CF.

  4. I am old enough to remember ACM in the 80’s, this free transfer bottom fishing is a disgrace. Braida is right, ACM has become a mid-table club like Roma, Atalanta and Viola, to mention a few.

    1. Oh yes, a mid table team that consistently makes the top 4 season after season. What astounding logic. And I just point at 2014/15, when Berlusconi and co were still in charge. We were in 10th place.

  5. Ya ya, heard this before. And then we never sign them and Inter or juve or Napoli sign then first, and we end up with guys like origi. Clowns…
