CM: Milan identify potential replacement for Krunic as January exit looms

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan believe that they have already found the ideal replacement for Bosnian midfielder Rade Krunic who is being heavily linked with a move away from the Rossoneri, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan do not feel the need to numerically replace Krunic in the January transfer window should he make his expected move to Fenerbahce in Turkey.

The club are content with the options of Ismael Bennacer, Tijjani Reijnders, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Yunus Musah, Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega.

In the summer though, the club wants to add young Schalke midfielder Assan Ouedraogo, who has been linked with almost every big club in Europe during the past few months.

Born in 2005, the youngster has been on Milan’s radar for around two years and there is great positivity about the potential to get a deal done, albeit with a lot of work still to be done.

Milan are expected to move for him before the summer but they almost certainly won’t be the only ones.

        1. I’m pretty sure Pioli was ordered to put the kid on for a few minutes. “Think of the media attention. Think of the ticket and shirt sales.”.

          Yeah. Not Pioli’s tactical decision.

  1. I’ve only really learned how to pay attention to the transfer market this year, so take this we a grain of salt.

It seems to me that young players have a bigger role and focus this year (young being U21). Barts on first team, Pellegrino getting real time, Carmada debut.

This seems to be going in to the transfer market as well. There are many stories like this one.

So it seems to me that we are setting up work the Atalanta, RB Leipzig angle. Buy a bunch of kids on the cheap. Sell a small few for high. Loan some others. Occasionally hit the jackpot.

This would fund other, larger moves like a striker or a renewal for Mike.

It doesn’t need to be “either or.” With champions league money and improved sponsorships we could both create a talent factory and build a killer first team?
