CM: Milan insist with pursuit of €35m forward for three reasons – player could force his hand

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have secured the return of Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid which will soon be announced, but they are not content with just the Spaniard.

According to Calciomercato.com, Brahim is a piece but not enough to complete the group of attacking midfielders for the upcoming season and for this reason work will continue this week to try and sign the man Paolo Maldini has identified as the ideal replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu.

The Rossoneri management are big admirers of Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow for his quality, flexibility (he can play both as a central attacking midfielder and as a right winger) and for the international experience he has already gained.

Milan have in fact already presented a first offer to CSKA: a €5m paid loan with an option to buy set at €20m plus bonuses, but it was rejected by the Russian club as they value him at €10m more and they would only consider a permanent sale.

It is in Maldini and Massara’s plans to insist on signing Vlasic though and a lot will depend on the new talks with the 23-year-old’s agent, to understand if he might force his hand by asking to leave.
