AC Milan still have a concrete interest in signing Mehdi Taremi from Porto and they could make an attempt in January, according to a report.
Calciomercato.com recall the words of Iran’s assistant coach Rahman Rezaei yesterday who suggested that Taremi wants to join Inter having decided that his time at Porto has come to an end.
He had already been considered as an option by the Nerazzurri in the summer and Milan had tried to bring him to Italy in the last few days of the transfer window but nothing ever came to fruition.
Now, Inter’s Piero Ausilio has started to move personally to understand if there is room for a negotiation. Taremi’s contract expires in June, in January he would be free to choose his destination for next season but the player’s desire is to leave Portugal six months early.
The striker wants Serie A and those close to him have said it clearly, Inter have re-established contacts with Taremi’s entourage to move forward and beat the competition from foreign clubs in the window.
If the Nerazzurri were to decide to try land him in January – and the Iranian would take the place of the injured Arnautovic in the squad – they would also have to sit down to negotiate with Porto, who would be ready to only evaluate offers of €10m and up.
Watch out for Milan though, because after the all-out negotiations in the last days of the summer mercato they have not let go of the idea of signing Taremi.
In the summer the deal did not go through due to the commissions requested by the intermediaries of the operation considered too high by the Rossoneri. The interest is still concrete, and the management are evaluating whether to make an attempt in January.
He is not coming.
– Does not fit U-25 policy
– Messed up summer move in a bad fashion
– Is on a decline; just 2 goals in 12 games
A perfect fit for Inter.
Another old player. This makes no sense 😕
