CM: Milan interested in France starlet after impressive U17 World Cup showing

AC Milan are interested in signing Stade de Reims winger Nathanael Mbuku, according to the latest reports.

The Rossoneri’s owners Elliott Management have so far tended to prefer a recruitment strategy centered around signing young players with high potential and developing them into stars in the future.

Six players arrived in the summer transfer window; namely Theo Hernandez, Rade Krunic, Ismael Bennacer, Rafael Leao, Leo Duarte and Ante Rebic – the oldest of which was, at the time, 25.

According to Calciomercato.com, another young star has caught the eye of chief scout Geoffrey Moncada in France U17 winger Nathanael Mbuku.

He netted five goals in five games during the recent U17 World Cup including a goal in the semi-final defeat to Brazil, and he made his debut for the Reims senior side in their recent victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

He signed his first professional contract with the club last year – a deal running until 2021 – however Milan have a head start on the teenager according to the report.

Mbuku has in the past been compared to another former Milan target in now-Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin.
