CM: Milan hoping for ‘international auction’ as Lyon re-enter Krunic race

By Oliver Fisher -

Just as happened during the summer transfer window, Lyon have joined the race to sign Rade Krunic from AC Milan ahead of January as per a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, there is no chance of Krunic renewing his contract expiring in 2025 and January will be the month in which his four and a half year spell with Milan finally comes to an end.

Fenerbahce  have already reached an agreement with the player for a three-year deal worth around €3.5m net per season, bonuses included, but Lyon have included the Bosnian in their list of midfield targets as well as Guido Rodriguez of Real Betis.

An international auction is therefore possible, even if the inclusion of the OL appears complicated because Fenerbahce moved well in advance and have agreed terms as mentioned, while Krunic is keen to reunite with his compatriot Edin Dzeko.

Mario Branco will fly to Italy to meet the Rossoneri management and try close the deal for around €6-7m, which will then be put towards the signing of a striker and a centre-back. Who will replace Krunic? Assane Ouédraogo of Schalke 04 is the main name, but more for next summer.

  1. I don’t believe that. Lyon is in huge financial crisis, they have many, many holes in the team to fix this winter and they can’t afford to spend as much on one average player, even if he would probably be an upgrade over most of their current players to be fair. Also they have to cut on their salaries and Krunic has big requests. Not impossible since their owner is braindead but very unlikely.

  2. So Milan wnats to sign a striker & a central defender with €7m combined. This team called Ac Milan has lost it completed #FACT.

Maldini warned those in charge “Respect the history of the club”
