CM: Milan and Juventus closely watching teenage River Plate star

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of the teams that are keeping a close eye on River Plate starlet Claudio Echeverri in view of future transfer windows, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, there are a number of different Serie A sides who have scouts currently operating in South America looking for the latest talents who might be ready to make the jump across the Atlantic.

One of those players is Claudio Echeverri, and attacking midfielder born in 2006. He is described by Calciomercato.com as ‘the star that everyone is waiting for in Argentina’ even if at the moment he isn’t getting much playing time.

River Plate want to keep the 17-year-old for a few more years but he is already followed closely by all the top clubs in Europe based on what he has shown so far both with the youth teams and in his four senior appearances.

He is the captain of Argentina’s U17s, Milan are following him closely and Juventus are too, but they are not the only ones in Italy ready to invest. With a contract expiring on 31 December 2024, the next winter window will be the decisive one.
