CM: Milan left empty-handed despite €7m offer as Toulouse star makes career choice

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan appear to have missed out on signing Amine Adli from Toulouse for the time being, according to a report.

It is no secret that Milan always have their eyes on the French market as seen by the signings of Rafael Leao from Lille, Pierre Kalulu from Lyon and most recently goalkeeper Mike Maignan. Calciomercato.com writes that Ricky Massara’s idea was to add the name of Adli to the squad, but it seems Milan will be disappointed.

That is because Adli has chosen to stay and play in France, at least for another season, because the 21-year-old wants to continue his growth in Ligue 1 as an intermediate step before moving to a big foreign team.

French champions Lille have gained pole position over Marseille in the last few hours and could close a deal very soon. Milan offered €5m plus €2m bonuses, an offer considered low by Toulouse. The future remains to be seen, and Milan could be at the window again in 2022.

    1. Are you a fan or Milan hater lol? You sound like the latter my friend. Adil is a great young talent. Watched him play many times. Would be an excellent low cost signing. Not sure what this article means regarding going to Lille…if he goes to Lille it would not be for a year only so we would have to pay a lot more to buy him than now. Too bad for us he wants yo stay in France. Missed out on a real talent

  1. Why don’t Milan buy him and loan him out to a French team (Lille) if he want’s to continue his development in France,
