CM: Milan likely to shelve interest as Sassuolo star suffers metatarsal fracture

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s interest in Hamed Junior Traore may now be definitively shelved after the latest news from Sassuolo, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com report how Alessio Dionisi’s side have suffered a big blow in view of the start of the new season as Traoré has suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of his left foot, which is a rather serious injury that required surgery and should keep him out for a couple of months.

The Ivorian will therefore have to miss the remainder of preseason and will re-enter the fold not fully up to speed, and not only does it mean they immediately lose a very important squad member, but it may just influence the mercato.

Traore has been targeted by Milan, and last month Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara met Traoré’s new agents in Ibiza to test the ground, receiving the response that Sassuolo want at least €30m to sell. Now, any interest is likely to be squashed for the time being.
