CM: Milan to propose loan formula in pursuit of Arsenal defender

By Ben Dixon -

AC Milan’s defensive ranks are looking somewhat bleak in the current time. Pierre Kalulu has been the latest to fall victim to injury. As such, the club will be active in the January market to bring in reinforcements.

Milan’s technical director Geoffrey Moncada has already identified some targets for the mid-season transfer window. However, it seems the Rossoneri already have their preference on who they will bring in.

According to Calciomercato.com, Jakub Kiwior is at the top of Milan’s wish list for the defence and they have already initiated talks. The idea is to suggest a paid loan with an option to buy, even though Arsenal weren’t keen on a loan formula when the Rossoneri first probed the ground.

The defender aligns clearly with the club’s preferred movement in the market. He has already earned 17 appearances for Poland and has nearly 150 total appearances, including showings in the Champions League, Premier League and Europa League.

Another vital factor is that Kiwior has Serie A experience. After spending a season with Spezia in 2021-22, Mikel Arteta assessed him in the first half of the 2022-23 season. However, he deemed another loan move to be the right move for his development. As such, he spent the second half of the 2022-23 season in Serie A, again with Spezia.
