CM: Milan looking at Wigan defender – player has already given green light for move

By Oliver Fisher -

Wigan Athletic star Antonee Robinson wants to complete a move to AC Milan this month amid rumours the Rossoneri could make an approach, a report claims.

It was first claimed by Di Marzio on Wednesday night that the Diavolo have identified Wigan’s 22-year-old full-back Robinson and Heart of Midlothian’s 17-year-old defender Aaron Hickey as two options to replace Ricardo Rodriguez.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are examining the market for possible replacement for Rodriguez, and they are looking for a player with ‘precise characteristics’.

They claim that Robinson is an idea approved by the club’s hierarchy, but having cost Wigan €3m when he arrived from Everton last summer, his cost is unknown.

Robinson has already given his go-ahead to Milan to complete the move, but everything obviously depends on Rodriguez whose move to Fenerbahce is currently blocked by Financial Fair Play.

Work is underway to unlock it and only then will Milan decide whether to step up their interest in the USA international.
