AC Milan are readying a contract renewal offer for captain Alessio Romagnoli after his excellent recent form, a report claims.
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan have decided that they wish to renew the agreement with Romagnoli, with his current deal set to expire in 2022.
The 25-year-old has been chosen as a symbol of the new era, with Elliott Management Corporation ready to make an exception regarding the salary ceiling allocated for those who will come from the market, meaning a deal worth over €3.5m net per year will be tabled.
Romagnoli in the future and in the present project, having not missed a minute of Serie A action all season. In addition to Kjaer, Milan will look for another centre-back on the market, possibly a young player with potential and therefore one who would grow with the presence of Romagnoli and Kjaer.
A renewal would put an end to speculation linking Atletico Madrid and Barcelona with a move for Romagnoli.
