CM: Milan must resolve Castillejo situation – the player wants to stay despite interest from Spain

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have set the asking price for Samu Castillejo but the winger doesn’t want to leave this summer, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com writes how Milan’s objective for the summer window is to bring players in who offer more guarantees from a goalscoring point of view, starting with Olivier Giroud but not ending there. The idea is to identify a right winger capable of beating a man with the dribble, creating numerical superiority and above all impacting concretely with goals and assists.

Alexis Saelemaekers is Stefano Pioli’s ‘trusted soldier’ because of his dynamism and balance, but the front line behind Ibrahimovic produced only 13 goals and 20 assists in the league when including Calhanoglu (4 goals and 10 assists), Brahim Diaz (4 and 4), Hauge (2 goals), Saelemaekers (2 and 5) and Castillejo (1 and 1).

Amine Adli appears to be a target for the right wing and this impacts the future of Samu Castillejo, who can leave if an offer of €8-10m comes in. The Spaniard’s will, however, is to stay at Milan for another year despite the fact that he is lower in Pioli’s hierarchies.

A direct confrontation with his entourage will be needed in the coming weeks while Espanyol and Real Betis have probed the ground in the mean time to see if he would be interested in returning home.
