CM: Milan offered Atletico Madrid striker by Jorge Mendes – the Rossoneri’s response

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign striker Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid but are not keen on the idea for now, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, there was a meeting held at Casa Milan on Monday afternoon during which CEO Ivan Gazidis, sporting director Frederic Massara and technical director Paolo Maldini took stock of the negotiations currently ongoing and the players who have been offered to the club by agents.

Among these is Diego Costa, as Jorge Mendes has proposed the services of his client to the Milan leadership. However, Maldini and co. are not interested in signing the 31-year-old, as their priority for the attacking department remains the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

If things completely fall apart, then plan B consists of a search for a striker ready to step into the starting XI, but it will be a profile that offers more guarantees than Costa, who scored five LaLiga goals in 2019-20. Mendes, therefore, continues to probe other Italian clubs for his client.
