CM: Milan remain interested in star Celtic defender – competition from Leicester and Sevilla

AC Milan remain keen on a move for Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer but face competition from two other clubs, a report claims.

In the summer a revolution of the defensive department is expected, with the Rossoneri in particular looking for a new long-term partner for captain Alessio Romagnoli.

Ajer is among the names who has been repeatedly linked with a move to Milan as the 22-year-old has captured the attention of some top European clubs thanks to a fantastic season with the Scottish champions.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan remain interested in signing the Norway international in the upcoming transfer window but they face competition from two teams in particular.

The first is Leicester, who could boast the chance to play in the Champions League next season if they secure a top four finish as they are on course to do, plus Brendan Rodgers if the Foxes’ manager and he coached Ajer at Celtic before moving south of the border.

The other team interested are LaLiga side Sevilla, also on course for a top four finish as things stand.
