CM: Milan return unlikely for Thiago Silva as Everton boss Ancelotti steps up pursuit

By Oliver Fisher -

The chances of Thiago Silva returning to AC Milan this summer remain slim at the moment despite his imminent exit, according to a report.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, PSG sporting director Leonardo has communicated the decision to the player regarding his renewal and the fact a new contract will not be offered.

This news was not received well by the veteran defender, who was eager to continue in the French capital. Thiago would like to return to the Rossoneri but the sentiment is not enough and the right conditions are also needed.

He would need to drastically reduce his salary from the current €12million-a-year to the €3m ceiling imposed by Milan – and the acceptance of a one-year deal with the option of renewal linked to objectives (like Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return).

Everton are very active though: Carlo Ancelotti wants to reunite with Thiago Silva at Goodison Park, while huge offers from China have also arrived to the player’s agent, Paulo Tonietto, but Silva’s priority is to remain in Europe.

Meanwhile, Le10Sport are reporting that Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United are also keen.
