AC Milan are planning on making a sizeable investment in the attacking department this coming summer, and their strategy is beginning to take shape according to a report.

Calciomercato.com begin by looking at the current strikers in Milan team, starting with Luka Jovic. He has six goals since the start of December and the current idea is for the Rossoneri to extend his deal by another season.
Milan will discuss Olivier Giroud’s future with him and his wishes will be respected, given that he will turn 38 on September 30 and is tempted by the idea of a move to the MLS. However, the French striker’s priority remains oriented towards staying.
A signing will be needed regardless of whether both stay, and tomorrow night will be an audition of sorts for Joshua Zirkzee who has seven goals and two assists in 19 games for Bologna this season.
The problem is the competition – from teams like Manchester United and Bayern Munich (who have a buy-back) as well as the fact his asking price is currently €50m and could end up rising.
Geoffrey Moncada and co. will try use Alexis Saelemaekers in the negotiations to bring the cash sum down given he is on loan with the Rossoblu until the end of the season with a €12m option to buy.
The main alternative is in Germany and more specifically RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. He is under contract there until 2028 and has three goals in 15 league games this year (barely any being starts), with a €50m release clause for clubs abroad.
