CM: Milan planning their summer striker investment – the names being considered

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are putting in the hours when it comes to finding a new striker in the summer, with a variety of names being assessed throughout the season before the big investment takes place.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, there are a number of names that Milan are watching closely as they know that it could take a handsome fee to get the calibre of young striker that they want this summer.

With Olivier Giroud’s contract coming to an end and Luka Jovic not viewed as the future primary striker, somebody else needs to be brought in on a long-term deal.

At the moment, it seems Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee is the favourite target of Geoffrey Moncada. He has impressed this season in Serie A and Bologna would be open to a sale for the right price. The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are on the scene, though.

Elsewhere, RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is another option. He has got a €50m release clause which the German side will not negotiate on. It is a big price tag but at least Milan know where they stand with the negotiations.

The longer-term target is Lille’s Jonathan David, who could prove to be the cheapest of the three given by the summer, he will have one year left on his Lille contract.
