CM: Milan to be without key man again for trip to Sassuolo as recovery continues

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli will be without winger Samu Castillejo for Tuesday night’s trip to face Sassuolo, a report claims.

The Spaniard has been unavailable for AC Milan since 3 July, as he suffered a muscle injury in the 17th minute of the match against SPAL away from home and missed the games against Lazio, Juventus, Parma and Bologna due to this physical problem.

It was reported by Sky Italia last week (via MilanNews.it) that the winger is indeed getting closer to a return. He underwent an MRI scan on July 17 to assess the recovery thus far and the results were positive. The Rossoneri’s No.7, however, still needs four or five days before he can start training with the rest of the squad.

According to Calciomercato.com the Spaniard has not recovered for tomorrow’s game against Sassuolo at the MAPEI Stadium, and therefore will not be called up by Pioli.

That means that Alexis Saelemaekers seems a sure bet to start on the right side again unless Rafael Leao is risked there again.
