When Matteo Pessina was sold to Atalanta as a part of the Andrea Conti transfer, AC Milan decided to include a 50% resale clause. However, the clause will soon be removed from the midfielder’s contract.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the clause doesn’t have an expiration date per se but it will be removed when Pessina reaches 100 appearances for Atalanta. He’s currently at 75, meaning he will get there at the start of next season.
Milan are perhaps still holding out hope that he will be sold before then, either to them or another club. These two scenarios are very unlikely, though, as Atalanta see Pessina as a future captain of the team.
The Rossoneri will, however, get €2m in compensation from Atalanta as soon as the clause is removed. This is peanuts compared to the value of the player now but it will at least give Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara something.
