As reported by Calciomercato.com, Moncada has worked out that Monaco are being deliberately obstructive when it comes to Milan’s pursuit of Fofana for a very specific reason.

Milan have had a contract agreement in place with Fofana for the majority of the summer and Monaco were not impressed with the tactic of speaking to the player and his entourage to find an agreement before they had opened talks over the transfer fee.

The Ligue 1 side has been sticking to their valuation of €35m, which Milan are simply unwilling to meet for a player who only has one year to run on his contract and clearly wants to leave.

West Ham did meet the valuation, but Fofana rebuffed their interest because he wants to sign for Milan. Manchester United are also now on the scene which is a serious concern.

Milan’s latest bid was €17m including bonuses but Moncada may soon build on that. Milan hope that €25m including bonuses, with the fixed part not going above €20m, will be enough to sign the midfielder.
