AC Milan are ready to present a new offer for their No.1 midfield target, Youssouf Fofana, which is set to include a future resale clause. Indeed, one last push is needed to try to get the deal over the line.
The negotiations with Monaco have been long and tiring, with both clubs refusing to back down and reach a compromise. Milan want to spend around €20m on the midfielder, while the French side continue to ask for over €30m despite the contract expiring next year.
According to today’s edition of Il Giornale, as cited by MilanNews, Milan are preparing a new offer for Fofana which will be worth €20m. There will also be a future resale clause in favour of Monaco at around 10%, which the Rossoneri are hoping can make a difference.
Milan already have an agreement with Fofana over a four-year deal worth €3m per season. So far, the player has refused any other destination as he only wants to join the Rossoneri. This is, of course, a key in the negotiations but the question is how long he can dare to wait.
For now, Ismael Bennacer is the only defensive midfielder in the squad and the season opener is scheduled for next week. Johnny Cardoso has also been mentioned as a concrete Plan B for the French midfielder.
If Theo does not sign a contract next season, Milan should sell him for 25 to 30 million, because he will enter the last year of his contract? Your theories have no logic. A player is worth as much as the club values him while he is their player, and if Milan has no money and does not need Fofana, let him buy a cheaper player.
Actually that’s incorrect. The players value is what any buying club is willing to pay. I don’t see anybody ready to fork over 35m for Fofana, thus he is not worth that amount. Unless and until another club meets that demand, we should offer what WE think he’s worth.
Fofana doesn’t cost 20+mil in his last year of contract. He costs 20+mil if you need him now. That’s the difference.
Value of player depreciates with his contract. They are directly proportional, that’s why when player is nearing the end of his contract the team will try as much as possible to renew the contract, if, of course they value him much & if the player is willing, if not they will lose him for free or lose the control over him. As the case may be for Mbappe
Forse questo club vende a metà prezzo come il Simic
We should play waiting game, with lowballing price. If they don’t want. We we can play without defensive midfielder.
Fonseca is great coach. He will find solution. Maybe pav as defensive midfielder.
Who care about defensive midfielder when we already get royal gift
Can I have some of what you’re consuming?
Don’t be greedy. You already can fly and also have long age as turtle.
Haters gonna hate.
Are you a true fan, then you cheer for Emerson Royale. If you keep going down this path you are on, we know what kind of “fan” and man you are. And you are hardly a man.
so u cheer for Origi too? support him to respect the contract till next 2 seasons,
there’s something called “critics” even to someone/ something u loved the most
If you don’t want to sell a player, like PSG is not Mbappe, then he left for 0 euros. Monaco has the right to evaluate their player and if they don’t sell him, they go for 0 euros. We like Kessie, Dona and Chalha. Nothing unusual.
Truth be told mbappe did p$$$g dirty . Stringing along the club like that. And our 3 musketeers did Milan dirty. Lying s0bs.
Fofana told monaco he isn’t expanding and that he want to leave.
Those 4 guys didn’t. Monaco the one doing the dirty in this scenario
How did Mbappe string along PSG?
He wanted to leave couple years ago, PSG had to bring in the president of France to persuade him to stay and offered him fortune.
Last summer he told PSG again that he wants to leave and he isn’t renewing his contract so they can sell him. PSG refused to sell him.
Mbappe didn’t string along PSG. PSG thought that they can keep him by just throwing more money at him.
I’ve no love for that club but yeah. He did them dirty..if he wanted to leave fúcking leave. And fúck macron, prancy príck.
The player at present belongs to Monaco, they can request the amount and should do so, they don’t need to be bullied or questioned on a moral, ethical or any other level.
If anything you should admire them for making a stand, bigger clubs come in turn these players heads and then ask these players to run their contract down and then pounce (a policy which Real Madrid are currently employing, as seen with Mbappe and Alphonso Davis), is that fair.
In all honesty I would like to sign Fofana, but we will have to convince Monaco, they too want the best deal for them.
When it comes to the Theo situation, we need to strengthen our squad and challenge for trophies, if we don’t then it will be right for Theo to want away, a player of his caliber wants to look back and see accolades.
20 million euros is a fair offer for a player in his last year of his contract. If they don’t even want to entertain that then we should just move on and find someone else.
I see we have new Moncada photo for the thumbnails, very nice 🤡
From my point of view, Monaco are willing to lose Fafana for free in 11 months time, I admire their courage, a lesson also to Milan, negotiating with a club and seeking for permission to contact their players is a better way to do business, never subject or pitch a player against his parent club and expect the owners to negotiate fairly, in fairness Milan deserves these stress, and I admire their waiting game though, it’s a jungle, survival of the fittest irrespective of the outcome
