CM: ‘Morata day’ begins with medical underway – the itinerary outlined

By Oliver Fisher -

Today is being dubbed ‘Morata Day’ as the striker is expected to undergo his medical with AC Milan ahead of joining the club.

According to Calciomercato.com, the management have put the ‘bureaucratic machinery’ in motion that will lead to Morata signing a four-year contract (with option for a fifth year) at €5m net per season plus bonuses.

Morata was convinced by Zlatan Ibrahimovic in person, while today Giorgio Furlani, Geoffrey Moncada and Ibrahimovic will fly to Madrid to complete the deal, handled thanks to the work of FIFA intermediary and agent Beppe Bozzo.

There will be no negotiations with Atletico Madrid over payment terms, who instead have only been notified out of courtesy of the payment of the €13m release clause, which will be triggered this morning.

Morata will undergo his medical today in the Spanish capital and then tomorrow he will leave with his family for a well-deserved vacation after just winning the European Championship with Spain, who he is the captain of.

His arrival in Italy is scheduled for the first week of August, when the rest of the team will be returning from the tour in the United States. His debut – barring any setbacks – should be in the Trofeo Berlusconi against Monza on Wednesday 13 August.
