CM: Pioli would be at risk without Champions League due to four major faults

The future of Stefano Pioli as AC Milan’s head coach would come into question if a place in the next edition of the Champions League were not secured, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com have picked out the several faults that Pioli must hold his hands up for, starting with the fact that he has not been able to manage resources between the Champions League and the league in the best possible way.

The second is that he has not found a tactical solution to avoid embarrassment against the teams that come to San Siro with the sole aim of limiting the damage, playing deep in a low block to frustrate.

The third is that he has forgotten Yacine Adli and other players and instead he has insisted too much with some players who have clearly not been up to task since the beginning of the season.

Last but not least is the rotation. Against Cremonese, Empoli and Bologna, Pioli made at least seven changes to the starting line-up compared to the previous game and just expected the results to come.

This Milan side cannot afford to keep fielding their reserves with a place in the Champions League at stake. Without it, the future of Pioli could also come into question again.
