AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli must transform the fortunes of his team during the final five games or his job is at risk, a report claims.
As Calciomercato.com writes, in the final nine days of last season Stefano Pioli won over the entire Rossoneri management and a got a well-deserved renewal, putting to bed the rumours that Ralf Rangnick was set to arrive as part of an umpteenth revolution.
Now though, Pioli has five games to make sure that Milan do not miss out on the target of top four, and also to guarantee himself at least another season on the bench. The fate of the team will depend on the choices of Pioli and the responses of the most representative players of the squad.
Massimiliano Allegri was the last manager to guide Milan to a top four finish back in the 2012-13 season and some indiscretions name him as a possible candidate in the event that Pioli is sacked, while the report mentioned that Ivan Juric of Hellas Verona is also an idea.
The Rossoneri owners have never questioned their coach until the last few few weeks, but a possible fifth-place finish would put everything into question. In 2021 Milan’s average points dropped from 2.26 to 1.60, the defeats at San Siro increased (5) and the last debacle at the Olimpico against Lazio left its mark.
