CM: Probable XIs for Genoa vs. Milan – Gabbia over Tomori and changes in midfield

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is likely to make a number of changes from the line-up that lost to Sassuolo for the midweek trip to Genoa, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com reports that it will be a game that is certainly somewhat affected by the absences for both sides. Starting with Genoa, Shevchenko will be without Fares, Bani, Maksimovic, Criscito, Caicedo and Cassata, with Kallon and Destro to be evaluated.

Pioli should recover Fikayo Tomori and Samu Castillejo meanwhile but will be without Davide Calabria, Ante Rebic and Olivier Giroud. The report states that Tomori is unlikely to start meaning Matteo Gabbia should get the nod to play next to Simon Kjaer with Pierre Kalulu to come in for Alessandro Florenzi on the right.

The midfield is likely to change again with the return of Sandro Tonali from minute one and the probable return of Franck Kessie who is in a battle with Bennacer.

Probable Genoa XI (3-5-2): Sirigu; Biraschi, Vasquez, Masiello; Sabelli, Sturaro, Badelj, Rovella, Cambiaso; Bianchi, Pandev.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Kjaer, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Ibrahimovic.
