CM: Real Madrid dream and €9m demands – why Milan have walked away from Rabiot

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus now seemed to be resigned to losing Adrien Rabiot but the salary demands have also scared off AC Milan, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, Juve have decided that they are no longer willing to wait for an answer from Rabiot and this was shown by the fact that they accelerated to close the deal for Khephren Thuram with OGC Nice.

The Bianconeri’s offer to Rabiot was €7m net per season plus €1m in bonuses, but the demands of his mother-agent Veronique are currently higher, close to €9m net per season. Those requests have seen Milan take a step back too.

There was an exploratory survey, but the discussion did not progress. Geoffrey Moncada sensed the possibility to sign the Frenchman on a free and he greatly appreciates the technical qualities and leadership that the midfielder could bring.

However, a real negotiation never really started between the parties because the economic demands are considered too high for the parameters of Milan, who could go up to €7m per year at most and no more.

Rabiot now dreams of winning the European Championship with France and then joining Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid. Newcastle and Liverpool have already made moves, but he has given his preference 100% to Los Blancos.

      1. The market dictates contracts’ value, not your very own opinion. Inter fans are not complaining like Milan fans about their players’ salaries, they’re too busy celebrating their second star.

    1. Can you blame him though? If he can get 9mil AND end up in top club like Real, why wouldn’t he?

He should go to Milan instead and play under Fonseca with guys like Emerson Royal and some no-names from Ligue1 bought as backup plan for Zirkzee?

      1. Yes I can what did he do to deserve 9 million? He is a good midfielder but common these wages are unreal. Instead of 2 years of wages plus a commission fee you can get a fofana or if your lucky a guler. Just a side note no team in Europe will offer him 9 million other than Man United

  1. Milan is never a serious team to begin with, these are opportunities we shouldn’t slip away from, how can you build a competitive team when yo in can’t explore this kind of opportunity?

        1. Yeah why would Milan fans want a veteran international player starting for a top team that has been in the last two World Cup finals and a starter for PSG and Juventus over the years when we can have cheap average guys? Ah yeah, the holy budget. Who would want a Mercedes-Benz when you can have a Fiat anyway?

          1. Depends on your income really.. it’s one thing buying a benz and another in maintaining it. Something a lot of people don’t understand when they buy cars…

I already said rabiot is overrated at best and wouldn’t improve our midfield all that much. Especially for that salary

  2. His mum is a good negotiator. Mbappe mum is also his agent. Seems like mothers have their kids best interest at heart.

We don’t need Rabiot. We should look at proper CDM like Paulinho from Portugal, Ugarte who is surplus at PSG. Both physical like Gattuso and would protect our backline well.

  3. I wonder what cardinale sees in moncada and furlani!!!!! They seem to enjoy wasting their time …. chasing zirkzee, rabiot, lukaku, buongiorno …. who are all out of reach given the misers who own milan these days.

  4. The rumor mill giveth. The rumor mill taketh away…

Thank You Rumor Mill for endless entertainment which you will continue to provide all summer.

  5. From the beginning ACM dont have chance to sign him , he reject juve 8m euro nett offer while ACM highest salary leao only 7m euro nett. If ACM give rabbiot 9m euro nett then ACM will have hard time dealing with key player that need renewal like maignan & theo. Just move on guys , rabbiot can easily get 9m euro from RM ,NU ,Liverpool. Better focus on fofana or wiefer for DMF, even juve already give up on rabbiot and buying kephren thuram as his replacement ( done deal by fabrizio romano 20m euro with salary 2,5m euro nett / year)
