CM: Request from Kessie’s agent becomes late obstacle in renewal talks

The negotiations between AC Milan and Franck Kessie over the renewal of his contract have encountered yet another hurdle, according to a report.

Despite the fact the team have won six of their opening seven games to begin the Serie A season, the headlines continue to be dominated by the uncertainty surrounding the future of Kessie, who is coming off the back of a stellar 2020-21 season in which he established himself as one of the best in his position in the league.

His contract expires at the end of the season, and Calciomercato.com‘s latest update claims that there are two obstacles for Milan to navigate during talks over a potential extension.

The first is predictably the salary issue, with the Ivorian asking for more than €7m plus bonuses which is above what Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have offered so far. The second problem is the commissions that Kessie’s agent George Atangana is requesting, which makes the financial commitment even higher.
