CM: Roma ready to battle Milan for Bundesliga ace – both clubs need sales first

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing Manu Kone to complete the midfield, but there could well be competition from Roma to overcome.

According to Calciomercato.com, Roma are expected to have quite a busy final phase of the summer mercato, starting with the sale of Paulo Dybala who should soon accept a huge salary offer from Al-Qadisiah.

La Joya is not happy with the situation that has been created because he believed he was more important for the club, but the logic of the mercato sometimes gets the better of feelings. Even a huge Roma fan in Edoardo Bove could be sold to the Premier League, with Everton and Fulham keen.

Both clubs have already contacted Roma to explore their possible availability to sell Bove. The Giallorossi director Ghisolfi is open to the sale, but it remains to be seen what type of offers will arrive and how important they will be financially.

His sale plus the probably departure of Tammy Abraham – who has been linked with Milan – could provide the funds needed to go for Konè, who wants to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach and could do so for €20m rather than the current €25m the German club are demanding.

Milan really like the 23-year-old, as Zlatan publicly stated, but at the moment they don’t have space in the squad to close the deal.

  1. We need to stop this BS of buying french players and eventually we will not be able to register them we need 2 Italian players, first swap Saelemakers with Chiesa second send Thiaw plus 20 mil for Tonali and keep kalulu, if we do this it will be perfect.

    1. Only Newcastle see Tonali as important to their season and Thiaw is doing his reputation and value no favours at the moment – Newcastle would have no interest in that.

And Chiesa almost certainly won’t drop his salary and there’s just no need to pay that for someone whose ideal position is the same as Leao’s
