CM: Romagnoli remains in Coverciano as the national team hope for a quick recovery

AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli will stay with the Italian national team for the time being after encouraging tests on his injury.

Romagnoli missed Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona because of what was confirmed as being a flexor injury, which most medical experts suggest should require a minimum of 10 days rest, but he went to join up with the Azzurri.

According to Calciomercato.com, Romagnoli will stay in Coverciano with the national team for the time being. He will not take part in tonight’s friendly match against Estonia, but in the next few hours he will be evaluated again.

The hope of stand-in Italy boss Evani (who will take the place of Mancini who is COVID-positive) is to have the Rossoneri captain back for the Nations League double-header against Poland (November 15) and Bosnia (November 18).

Milan are following closely the evolution of the defender’s situation, the report adds, as they cannot afford to be caught short with such a hectic schedule coming up.
