Davide Frattesi has made it clear that he wants to stay in Italy and take the next step in his career domestically, with AC Milan among the interested clubs.
As Calciomercato.com report, Frattesi spoke to the media during a press conference while with the Italian national team and he was asked if this might be the right summer for him to move on from Sassuolo.
“It will be an important summer, important decisions will have to be made. Probably yes, it is the most important of my life. It is always a pleasure to be in the midst of these conversations,” he said.
“It means that the things done in the past have been the right ones, I have to continue working like this and then Carnevali and the others will take care of the rest. I told my agent to call me only in case of important things.”
Sassuolo president Giovanni Carnevali’s will is to sell Frattesi by 30 June, perhaps also including some technical counterpart in the operation that could generate value in the future, but his asking price is still €35-40m given that Roma have a 30% sell-on clause.
The Giallorossi are the club that have been working on signing Frattesi for the longest time, attempting to use that 30% as a ‘discount’ to secure his return and with the inclusion of young players like Volpato and Missori who are liked by Sassuolo.
Juventus have the 23-year-old on their list of targets but a difficult summer awaits for the economically, just as it does for Inter who will probably find themselves having to replace both Gagliardini and Brozovic with limited budget.
That is why the candidacy of Milan could emerge strongly. Frattesi is a player the management likes a lot, his profile has the green light from Pioli but there is no interest in participating in auctions.
35~40M ? What are we going to pay them with….Yankee seasonal tickets?
Throw in some counterparts and get him.
We will sign some cheap rubbish Belgian instead.
Forget it, #Moneyball…Roma will beat us to Scamacca (whether you approve or not) same with Fratesi. Roma could be quite a force next season
Tbf the Udinese midfielder we are interested in (as per the article yesterday) is pretty good and we can get him for less than 15M.
Nah, Roma will stay mediocre with their overrated coach.
At the end, milan will sign another free agent style.. yeayyy
