CM: Serie A teams showing interest in Lazetic – when Milan will let him leave

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan striker Marko Lazetic has had a positive preseason but his exit on loan is currently being blocked, according to a report.

Milan are heading into the new campaign with only one fit striker as Divock Origi is still not back at 100% after a muscle problem he sustained towards the end of his time at Liverpool while Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not return until early next year, leaving just Olivier Giroud.

Calciomercato.com report that Lazetic has been one of the bright sparks of the friendly games so far especially following his brace in the 7-1 win against Pergolettese yesterday. He could have become an Empoli player, as the Tuscan club asked for him on loan, but Origi’s condition blocked the deal.

The former Red Star striker will only leave the Rossoneri on loan when the Belgian striker is back in full swing with the group. MilanPress reported yesterday that Torino manager Ivan Juric has requested to sign Lazetic on loan, just like how Tommaso Pobega moved there last summer.

  1. Loan him out and get Belotti. We have too many questions up front. 3 good players no doubt but Ibra is 40, Giroud isn’t a 20 a season man, and Origi is an unknown.

Belotti is free and a 1 in 2 Serie A striker. He wants to join Milan, for once the status quo lies with us

    1. I wouldn’t get Belotti if they gifted him to us on golden plate! He is worse than Ibra, and Ibra is 41. How many years since you last saw a Serie A match?

      1. what are you talking about? Ibra is a better footballer than Belotti of course, his age now means he cannot perform at his 28 year old level anymore, for a start Belotti could play 35 games, Ibra can’t. Giroud is a good player but not hugely prolific. That may change with better players in behind…it may not. Origi we have discussed…..where are our goals coming from?

FYI the last match I watched in Serie A was (drumroll…) the Sassuolo game. Please don’t patronise me again, i have been watching Serie A since 1988…

Belotti has consistently scored 1 in 2. I really don’t get the anti Belotti sentiment. He has played for an average team and scored goals and made his way into the national team. If we had big money of course we wouldn’t be looking at Belotti, but there seems to be a lot of people well up for the Origi deal, a man who has never scored more than 7 in a season, and who in his prime, Klopp let go…If you are going to go out on a limb for a free transfer, surely it is better to go for someone who knows the league and has consistently performed in it, rather than one who has never played in this league and never scored a lot of goals.

We don’t have big money, a good player is available for free who actually wanted to join us

    2. Season started in most leagues and serie A starts this weekend but Belotti in what should be his prime years is still without a club. Doesn’t that tell you something about Belotti? There is a reason he is unsigned

      1. Well…I know a couple of prem teams have tried to sign him and he’s rejected them. He’s also been waiting for us. It seems he’s off to Roma

I think given our financial situation he’s a good option

  2. Origi has never scored more than 7 goals in a season, yet people say Giroud doesn’t score enough…Origi may kick on and become a monster CF, but I doubt it. I expect him to be a good contributor in all the forward areas and get some key goals. Belotti will get you 16-20 at Milan I think.

There is literally nothing to lose

  3. Yes I’m sure he will do…it’s a ridiculous move on our part not to take him…Origi has never scored more than 7 in one season and Klopp rated him so highly that he would rather play ageing Firmino, and sign Nunez and Jota rather than give Origi the chance….

I think we should have an eye on Roma this season too…

  4. I don’t like to get bogged down in the childish behaviour that often plays out here, but what are you talking about? Ibra is a better footballer than Belotti of course, his age now means he cannot perform at his 28 year old level anymore, for a start Belotti could play 35 games, Ibra can’t. Giroud is a good player but not hugely prolific. That may change with better players in behind…it may not. Origi we have discussed…..where are our goals coming from?

  5. I would love this kid to be given an opportunity early in the season even if it’s only due to injuries. And I hope he scores some important goals because for me personally, I’d rather that he stayed than go on loan and though I have nothing against Belotti, I’d definitely keep Lazetic in the first team than get Belotti for free.

All of our other strikers are over 25 and so I think it’s only fair for Milan to have at least one youngster who can learn directly from our veterans in a first team environment. We’re a young team, so we must trust that a 18 or 19 year old kid can also be decisive even if not consistent.

On the topic of Origi; he was brought in because we’re aiming to go beyond the group stages of the champions league. Therefore he’s a suitable addition because he has the experience and the mentality for high pressure situations even when playing a secondary role. There’s also what seems like a deliberate strategy by management to create a more harmonize squad, hence the many french speaking players and now the trio of Belgians. All that’s left is for us to get some young Italians into the fold over the next two seasons and we’re good as gold.
