CM: Torino not worried despite Milan and Roma’s interest in Arsenal midfielder – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

Torino are not worried by the fact that Roma and AC Milan have reportedly entered the race for midfielder Lucas Torreira, it is claimed.

Despite a midfield department that already boasts the likes of Ismael Bennacer, Franck Kessie and Sandro Tonali, the Rossoneri management are understood to be keen on completing it with one more signing to give head coach Stefano Pioli two quality pairings to work with.

Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Italia (via MilanNews) on Thursday night that Milan have made an enquiry about Lucas Torreira of Arsenal, with the Uruguay international keen on returning to Italy after a tough last few months in London.

According to an update from Calciomercato.com, Torreira is Torino’s number one target for the midfield. The former Sampdoria man has been specifically requested by Marco Giampaolo, who knows him well having worked with him before.

Torreira is also followed with interest by Roma and Milan, the outlet adds, but Torino technical director Davide Vagnati does not seem to be worried by the competition.

He has already collected the approval of the player, who would gladly return to work with Giampaolo and is now seeking an agreement with the Arsenal.
