CM.it: Milan weighing up move for versatile Everton defender

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are being linked with a move for Everton defender Ben Godfrey who can play as a centre-back or on the right flank, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.it, the Rossoneri are assessing an array of options when it comes to a new central defender, and Godfrey is now one of them.

The former Norwich defender has been watched by the likes of Napoli and AS Roma in the past, whilst Milan themselves were on the scene before he joined Everton.

He is not getting the sort of game time he might expect under Sean Dyche at Everton this season and given he is out of contract in the summer of 2025, he could prove to be a low cost.

Atalanta have been close to signing Godfrey this month but the removal of the growth decree put the brakes on the deal.

Premier League side Sheffield United are also interested in Godfrey, as are Championship side Leeds United.

At 26 years old, Godfrey could prove to be a very solid loan option who can be signed permanently for a minimal fee in the summer, considering Everton have got financial issues and would certainly be open to selling the Englishman.

  1. Tomori was also not good enough for Chelsea and look how well thay worked out. This is a good signing especially if it’s a loan to buy.
