Conceicao expects response from Milan after first leg loss: “We have everything to win”

AC Milan boss Sergio Conceicao believes that his squad have ‘everything to win’ the match against Feyenoord in the second leg tonight.

The first leg at De Kuip in Rotterdam did not at all go the way that Milan planned as they lost 1-0, conceding in the third minute to a shot from Igor Paixao that Mike Maignan should have done better with in truth.

That means that the Rossoneri need to manufacture a second leg comeback in the Champions League for the first time since 2007, when they lost 3-2 to Manchester United at Old Trafford and then beat them 3-0 at home to reach the final.

Conceicao has made some changes from the team that beat Hellas Verona 1-0 on Saturday as Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic both start, while Yunus Musah is alongside Tijjani Reijnders with Youssouf Fofana dropping to the bench.

The Milan boss spoke to Sky Italia not long before kick-off at San Siro, and his comments were relayed by MilanNews.

It has been an emotional few days for you…

“I’m 100% focused on this match: the most important thing is to give a different response than in Rotterdam.”

Are you asking for lions out there on the field? Can you explain your line-up choices?

“The names are what they are, the important thing is what we have prepared in terms of play. We are halfway through this play-off, we are playing at home and we have everything to win this match.”
