Sky: Confirmations arrive regarding Milan’s interest in Spurs centre-back

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing young Spurs defender Japhet Tanganga having been previously linked with him, according to a report.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on Sky (via MilanNews), confirmation has arrived regarding Milan’s interest in Tottenham’s 23-year-old centre-back Japeth Tanganga. The player’s profile appeals to the Rossoneri directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, who are looking for a young player to bolster the rearguard numerically.

It comes after Milan were heavily linked in January, with The Athletic claiming that they had taken an interest in the England U21 international after Simon Kjaer suffered a season-ending injury, but in the end the decision was taken to give Pierre Kalulu game time.

Tanganga could follow the path of two of his compatriots in swapping England for Italy as Fikayo Tomori joined Milan from Chelsea back in January 2020 on loan before making it permanent, and Tammy Abraham signed for Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
